What if you could take a trading tool with hidden rules and use AI to figure out how it works? Many traders rely on buy and sell signals without knowing what happens behind the scenes. That makes it hard to tell if a strategy actually works.

This guide shows how AI can help you rebuild visible trading signals, test their performance, and uncover the numbers that matter before risking real money. You don't need to be a coding expert to follow. See the 5-step method 👇

📈 "BLACK MONDAY" FEARS FADE AS NASDAQ FUTURES REBOUND

Just one day before the 39th anniversary of Black Monday, the Fear & Greed Index plummeted to 18 (Extreme Fear) following a rough 4.5% weekly drop in the Nasdaq.

Despite Wall Street being closed over the weekend, crypto-based leverage traders lost nearly $52 million in just 10 minutes on Saturday betting on AI and chip stocks.

Now, fear of a crash is easing up to start the week. Nasdaq 100 futures rebounded nearly 1% on Monday morning, ignoring intense social media rumors about a potential "Black Monday" market collapse following Friday's tech sell-off.

1/ From Friday’s Drop to Monday’s Bounce

Friday was rough, but the market is showing quick signs of life entering the new week.

  • On friday, The Nasdaq Composite fell 2.1% and the S&P 500 dropped 1.1%. This marked the worst week for both indexes since June 2024.

  • Today, December futures for the Nasdaq 100 rose 0.86% to around 29,643 points, recovering from an early opening dip of 29,227 points (-0.6%).

  • Market research firm Kobeissi Letter noted that the S&P 500 is set to gain roughly $350 billion in market value at the opening bell.

2/ Were the "Black Monday" Warnings Accurate?

Social media was filled with panic over the weekend, but real market trading tells a very different story. Warnings about a severe market crash spread rapidly across social platforms on Sunday and Monday.

The original Black Monday happened on October 19, 1987, when the Dow Jones suffered a massive single-day crash of 22.6%.

Monday’s early bounce shows that the weekend panic was overblown compared to actual trading activity.

3/ Is the Rally Supported by Only 10 Stocks?

Even with the bounce, analysts warn that the broader stock market remains heavily reliant on just a handful of big tech names.

The S&P 500 closed Friday at 7,659.44 points, about 2% below its record high of 7,818.93 set on October 6, 2024. Kobeissi notes that history suggests the index could still push toward the 8,000 milestone (a 4.4% gain).

About 84% of stocks in the S&P 500 are trading at least 10% below their recent high points. In fact, just 10 stocks have generated nearly 70% of all S&P 500 gains since March 30, 2024.

a-historic-shift-in-expectations

Chip makers got hit hard on Friday due to rising doubts about AI sustainability. Micron dropped 5.6% and Intel fell 5.8%.

Depending on so few giant companies makes the entire market vulnerable when chip stocks fall. However, despite Friday's drop, the S&P 500 remains up 11.9% overall for the year 2024.

🧠 My Analysis: Broadening Participation Is Key

While the futures rebound pushed back against weekend panic, relying on just 10 mega-cap stocks creates a shaky foundation.

For this recovery to hold long-term, investors need to see gains spread out to the other 84% of stocks rather than depending entirely on tech and semiconductor giants.

10 Stocks at the Center of AI’s $1 Trillion Boom

AI’s growth story is much bigger than chatbots.

The market was already valued at an estimated $800 billion by late 2025, and continued adoption could push it beyond $1 trillion in the years ahead. That growth will require more data centers, computing power, software, networking and intelligent devices.

But the most obvious AI names may not be the only companies positioned to benefit.

MarketBeat’s free 10 Best AI Stocks to Own in 2026 report identifies ten publicly traded companies helping power the next phase of the AI buildout. Some are established leaders. Others occupy less obvious corners of the expanding AI ecosystem.

This free report names 10 stocks positioned to ride that wave before the rest of the market catches on.

🌋 MICHAEL BURRY WARNS OF A 'SUPERVOLCANO' IN THE STOCK MARKET

Michael Burry, the investor famous for predicting the 2008 housing bubble, is raising alarms again. He warns that the next bear market could last much longer than people expect, based on 100 years of inflation-adjusted S&P 500 data.

inflation-adjusted-s-p-500

1/ The Warning: A Quiet Peak Over a Simmering Volcano

On the surface, everything looks calm. The S&P 500 hit a new record high on October 6, 2026. But Burry says danger is building up underneath.

  • Fewer and fewer individual companies are actually pushing the index up. Market participation (market breadth) is shrinking rapidly.

  • The peak on October 6 happened on low trading volume, similar to short-lived peaks seen in June and August 2026.

Burry points out high speculation, crazy overvaluations, and returning inflation. He says investors today are in full denial, just like they were in 2000 and 2008.

2/ Historical Lessons: Long Waits for Real Returns

Burry relies on historical data, which he believes modern trading algorithms completely ignore. His main point isn't just that prices will drop, it's how long the bad times will last.

  • 1966 to 1982: When adjusted for inflation, the S&P 500 lost about 53% of its value.

  • 1929 to 1949: Real returns dropped by 58%.

  • 2000 to 2011: Real market prices fell about 40% from peak to bottom.

  • Reinvesting dividends reduced the 1966–1982 losses to around 10%, and the 2000–2011 losses to about 25%.

So basically, investors often had to wait 15 to 20 years just to get back to real growth.

3/ Buy-the-Dip Habits & Crypto Impact

Burry’s long-term outlook goes directly against today's popular habit of blindly "buying the dip." Investment firm Panmure Liberum recently set the most bearish price target on Wall Street, forecasting the S&P 500 could fall to 5,000 points by 2027.

Crypto investors are asking if digital assets can split off and do well during a prolonged stock slump.

Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan believes Bitcoin can survive different economic conditions, but a decade-long bear market would be the ultimate test for crypto.

🧠 Easy Takeaway: A quiet stock market hitting new highs doesn't mean it's safe. When only a tiny group of big companies holds up the market while inflation eats away at profits, real gains can disappear for decades.
