Don't panic sell on a headline. The weekend is often when the "smart money" steps in after the retail traders have been scared out.

This update isn't promising a moonshot tomorrow, but it is providing the exact price levels where the trend lives or dies. If we hold these lines on Sunday, next week could be violent to the upside.

⛓️ WHAT’S NEXT FOR FTX’S WITNESS AFTER PRISON?

Caroline Ellison, the former co-CEO of Alameda Research and key figure in the collapse of FTX, got early release after serving around 60% of her 2-year sentence.

caroline-ellison-was-released-from-jail

She’s now staying at a re-entry center in New York, which is basically a halfway house to help her ease back into normal life.

She got transferred there back in October 2025, after serving time in a federal prison in Connecticut since November 2024.

Why early release? Her sentence was reduced by about 10 months due to her full cooperation with prosecutors and good behavior.

1. Legal Fallout Still Follows Her

The SEC hit her with a 10-year ban, she can’t hold any exec roles at public companies or crypto exchanges.

They said she played a key role in misleading investors, helping FTX raise $1.8B by selling the dream of a “safe” platform.

Two other ex-FTX leads - Gary Wang and Nishad Singh - also got 10-year bans, though they didn’t go to prison (both cooperated too).

2. Ellison vs. SBF: Very Different Outcomes

Community’s kinda torn about this. Some feel like she got off way too easy, especially when you compare it to SBF’s 25-year sentence.

But here’s the difference:

  • SBF went to trial, denied everything, and got slammed with serious charges: fraud, conspiracy, misusing customer funds

  • Ellison pleaded guilty, testified, and basically helped put SBF behind bars

Her testimony confirmed that FTX and Alameda were mixing customer funds, hiding growing losses, and giving Alameda unlimited access to FTX deposits.

Now that she’s out, it kind of wraps up the main legal chapter of the whole FTX meltdown that helped kick off the 2022 crypto winter.

SBF, on the other hand, is unlikely to walk free anytime soon. His appeal chances look weak. And even Trump said he wouldn’t pardon him.

3. What Happens Next?

Ellison is free. But she's not walking into a warm welcome.

It closes the FTX courtroom drama, but raises big questions about how justice works in crypto.

You play the game right, cooperate, you walk in under 2 years. Stand your ground? You get 25. Is that fair? Depends who you ask. We need better checks, not just harsher punishments.

🧨 SAGA HALTS CHAIN AFTER $7M HACK

Saga just paused its SagaEVM chain after after a smart contract exploit drained almost $7M.

According to Saga, the hacker managed to drain ~$7M USDC, bridged it out of SagaEVM, and swapped it into ETH. The team has identified the wallet involved is “0x2044…c6ecb.

SagaEVM Security Incident: Investigation Update

They stopped the chain as soon as they saw weird activity.

The attacker found a way to mint Saga Dollar (D), without backing it with real assets. They bridged those fake tokens to Ethereum and swapped out for 2,000+ ETH. Then:

Saga did clarify that the main network infrastructure is still fine, still up and running.

They’re now working with exchanges and bridge teams to blacklist the attacker’s wallet and try to recover some of the funds.

👉 More Context: The Rising Cost of Exploits

Like I said before, crypto hacks haven’t slowed down. Chainalysis says 2025 saw $3.41B in total losses - up slightly from $3.38B the year before.

Hackers are getting smarter, faster, and now using automated tools to scan for contract bugs or bridge holes.

👉 My Quick Take: What This Really Means

When new chains launch stablecoins, bridges, and smart contracts at the same time, and scale like crazy, this kind of thing becomes almost inevitable.

If you're experimenting with new chains, always check if contracts have been audited (and by who). Then, look closely at how the stablecoin actually works, who can mint?

This can’t kill Saga for sure. But it is a loud reminder that TVL ≠ safety, and that new infra comes with real risks, especially when ambition outruns defense.
